A cozy home and lower energy bills....yes, please!
A cozy home.
A cozy home is, well a cozy home. We all would like to have a home that is inviting, well put together, and feels like somewhere you and others want to be. Getting rid of cold and drafty spaces in your home helps with this. Attic insulation isn't something fun, exciting, and pretty we add to our home, but it helps with the overall feel of it.
Let's slow air infiltration.
Anywhere air is creeping into our homes, it is an inefficiency. In the summer when hot air enters, our AC has to work longer and harder to cool our home, and vice versa in the winter. So we want to keep our homes sealed well.
Let's reduce generated air loss.
Keeping our air vents sealed, our duct work sealed, and our attics properly insulated help maintain steady and consistent temperatures across our home.
Let's verify proper ventilation.
A good rule of thumb is a 2:1 soffit vent to roof vent ratio. This allows cooler air to flow into the attic(from the exterior), helping push hot air out. The cooler your attic is in the summer time, the less heat transference there is into your living space.
Let's pay less to enjoy our home.
It takes a combination of upgrades to cut energy cost. Adding sufficient attic insulation is a great, and affordable place to begin this journey of savings.
